While drag has always been a popular art-form within the gay community, it is arguably at its peak with regards to mainstream media and audiences around the world. With that being said, one of Toronto’s most well known drag queens of today, Sofonda Cox, has decided that it is time for her to give back to her community with a drag masterclass; with guest mentors like choreographer Hollywood Jade and fellow drag queen Priyanka, the class will definitely take local queens to a new level.
With drag being at an all time high and more-and-more youth dabbling in the art-form, it is interesting to see how seasoned queens decide to give back, or even stay relevant. In a day and age where everything is learned and taught via social media and youtube videos, its inspiring to see someone get off their chair and give back with some real sweat and tears.
